PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Central Avenue Apartments was an existing nursing home rehabilitated for reuse as supportive housing for people who were formerly homeless. The complex is comprised of 61 efficiency units and various support spaces such as offices, meeting rooms, residential storage and laundry. The building was designed with the security of its residents in mind utilizing a single access-controlled entry/courtyard, secure rear patio and secure residential wings controlled by the 24-hour front desk personnel. Brick repair, cleaning and tuckpointing, new windows and a new cornice helped to beautify this old building which had been vacant for a number of years.
