Past work experience:
Prior to joining Cermak Rhoades Architects in 2016, Sam was an Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellow hosted by the Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation focused on integrating affordable housing design and Transit oriented development along the University Avenue Green Line LRT. Sam has previously worked as an intern architect for over three years at the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio (GCCDS) in the wake of Hurricane Katarina, researching and rebuilding safer and more sustainably homes and communities. Sam obtained a Master’s in Architecture from the University of Minnesota and is currently working towards receiving his architectural license. He is committed to social and environmental equity, a member of Social Economic Environmental Design (SEED) network, a trained Home Energy Rater and AmeriCorps Alumni.

Sam loves a good game of Ultimate Frisbee, walks, or any other opportunity to visit a park. He also speaks and teaches on the important role of design thinking and analysis in creating healthy communities and greater equity thought the built environment.
