PROJECT: Seventh Landing

LOCATION
St. Paul, Minnesota

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This building is designed to accommodate young adults, ages 18 to 28, who need assistance in finding jobs and support in gaining independence. The young men and women who live here have spent the better part of their lives moving between foster care, treatment facilities and homeless shelters. The twelve efficiency apartments give residents needed privacy and independence while offices and a community room house the necessary services that can help the residents become contributing citizens. In addition, the clients program required the inclusion of 2700 sq. ft. of commercial lease space which is intended for business's that may partner with the service provider to offer employment and training opportunities for the residents. Careful material choices combined with inventive uses of form and color provide a durable, affordable and exciting place for this population to grow and learn.
