Tim Cook
Designer
Past work experience:
Before returning to school to study architecture Tim developed a background in making, including the repair of brass and woodwind instruments, motorcycle repair, architectural brass fabrication, and precision machining. Renovation work on a 1911 lake area cottage helped develop an appreciation for architecture which is based on the simplest and most direct principles of construction. While interested in the preservation of historic buildings Tim feels that the relationships between older buildings that help define the identity of neighborhoods is something equally important to preserve.
The precipitous question "What is good architecture?" posed by an Architecture faculty member during his earlier college experience brought Tim back to academia.
Distinctions:
Master of Architecture - University of Minnesota
Bachelor of Science in Architecture - University of Minnesota
Bachelor of Art in Art History - University of Minnesota
Hometown:
White Bear Lake, MN
Interests:
When not tinkering with classic bicycles, and other odd, ancient, mechanical and musical artifacts Tim enjoys working on old houses and traveling with his family.
